Selected Usage Statistics (last revised 2/99)
Important Announcement -- Using a bank of supercomputers, "previously unknowable Einsteinium Algorithmatics" and every available finger & toe, our Technical Dept's "experts" (headed by self proclaimed world famous 'figurerologist' - and inventor of the numbers 6, 22 & 174 - Ralf R Rinkle, Ph.D+) has determined that, from its May '95, debut through April '98, the number of different individual visitors to the Library is 12,909,362,041.
Note: We suspect the "Einsteinium Algorithmatics" are actually the number of stupid legal questions we've received divided by two, but hey, who are we to argue with experts? If you're wondering how approx. 3 times the earth's entire population has visited the Library, so are we. About all we can do is remind you that "the numbers never lie." And neither do politicians, newspapers... or lawyers.
But seriously, rest assured that our Techie Dept. 'experts' had nothing to do with the statistics below which we try to insure are as accurate as possible. However:
* Please be aware that due to increasingly complicated factors (see '4/98 Note' near bottom of page) These Usage Stats Should ONLY Be Considered Rough Indicators of the Library's Increasing Popularity -- which we CAN and DO guarantee. Our hesitation to unintentionally mislead anyone is largely the reason for the post-4/98 gap below and -- until the issue is resolved -- for any scarcity of future updates.

Therefore, while indicated usage trends remain accurate we now view visitor #s as just ballpark estimates. We're trying to research this matter so we can better determine actual visitors.
* "Hits" as defined by the Library's server's actual file accesses and do not include page view, cache and proxy multipliers or other factors. Other site's "hit" #s may reflect other methodology or meanings.
* "Visitors" defined by our proprietary formula to determine usage reflects a combination of the Library's server's actual file accesses and unique visitors, cache and proxy multipliers, and other factors and is approx hits x .22 through 2/96, x.26 for 3/96, x.325 for 4/96-7/96, and x.433 since.
** Although some of Sept. '95's raw numbers are slightly lower than July's they actually represent an approx. 40-45% increase in actual usage due to various structural changes we made to more accurately reflect visitor #s.
*** The Library announced itself on May 20th, 1995.
