The United States Code by Title

Here's the entire U.S. Code by Title current as of late 1993(?). It should include all annotations, historical notes, congressional and advisory committee reports and notes, cross-references, etc., in the GPO's expensive Multi-volume printed version. Much of these are absent in the few on-line html versions -- there's one at Cornell's Legal Info Institute and another at www.house.gov/Laws.html

Note that while most is still effective there have been substantial revisions, additions and deletions to certain sections since 1993. Therefore, as with everything else in the Library, if it's important, Check Its Current Status Before You Rely On Anything!   (If you find a newer online full-text version please tell us.)

Also, unlike the vast majority of the Library's files, we didn't prepare them and instead of being on our server they're on the etext.org archives web server, so if something screws up don't bitch to us. The server can be busy at times, so if you can't get through, or the transfer is slow, try another time. Also, judging from the few Titles we throughly checked out, there's some inproperly included material that you'll need to edit out, but all that should be there seems to be.

And note that, unlike many online HTML versions of laws broken into what seems like millions of small files these are LARGE -- some VERY LARGE -- ASCII Text Files.   Anyhow, enough crap from us... Here are the Titles, their Subject Matter and Sizes.
